"Update On Clinical Applications For Robotic Magnetic Navigation For Cardiac Arrhythmias"

Invitation To Submit Abstracts

Dear Colleagues,

As we all know, robotic magnetic navigation (RMN) has established itself as a robust, accurate and reliable technology for the guidance of electrophysiology ablations. Hence, numerous operators use this advanced widely-adopted technology for performing various types of electrophysiology procedures.

To facilitate exchange and dissemination of practical knowledge on clinical RMN applications, Society For Cardiac Robotic Navigation (SCRN), both European and American branches, will publish special supplements to the Europace journal titled "Update on Clinical Applications for Robotic Magnetic Navigation for Cardiac Arrhythmias".

The supplements will comprise of selected peer-reviewed clinical reports on best practices for robotic magnetic navigation with contemporary data to be made available to the cardiac electrophysiologists, allied professionals and healthcare administrators. It will be indexed on PubMed, printed and circulated for Europace subscription holders, and will have free-to-view on-line access once published.

We are inviting you to submit abstracts highlighting the original manuscripts you would like to be considered for publication in the supplements. The SCRN will prioritize and select approximately 8 manuscripts to be published in the Europace special supplement in April or May 2018. All other manuscripts fitting SCRN’s value and quality criteria will be considered for publishing in additional Europace supplements later.

The deadline for abstract submission is 22 September 2017. The deadline for acceptance notification is 01 October 2017. The deadline for full-length manuscript submission is 15 October 2017.

Below, you will find some additional info in the Q’s & A’s format. To submit your abstracts, please, use the “Submit” menu option above or click   H   E   R   E   .

We hope you have interest in contributing to the supplement.

Best regards,

Dr. Eugene Crystal, President, SCRN(A) and Guest Co-Editor, Europace

Dr. Tamas Szili-Torok, President, SCRN(EU) and Guest Co-Editor, Europace

Additional Info

What is the anticipated time frame?

What types of manuscripts will be included in the supplement?
There will be focus on publishing a variety of manuscripts with original, unpublished data. SCRN’s approved proposal stated it would include manuscripts for VT, Ischemic VT, Atrial Arrhythmia, CHD and special anatomy case studies.
At this time we are not considering reviews, systematic reviews, meta-analyses or editorial articles.
How will the abstract pre-selection process take place?
Abstracts will be divided into the arrhythmia categories mentioned above and prioritized according to the content and representation quality.
Will my abstract and manuscript be kept confidential?
The guest editors will keep your abstracts and manuscripts confidential throughout the process.
What happens next if my manuscript does not get selected?
Some manuscripts might not be published in any supplement.
If so, we will send you a brief note that your manuscript was not accepted and provide feedback and potential next steps you may take.
Who will edit the supplements?
Dr. Gerard Hendricks has approved the special supplement.
Drs. Crystal and Szili-Torok led the proposal, secured funding for SCRN to commission the publications, and will serve as the Guest Editors for the supplement.
